With high brass rounds, it works perfectly. Added the low brass reliability kit and the MD-20 drum to rattle off 20 rounds of walmart ammo, and it jams periodically. This issue seems to be improving as I send more high brass rounds thru the gun. I expect it needs to be broken in a bit more. Overall a great gun, and I would buy it again. As a matter of fact, ]after seeing a 20 round drum emptied[, several friends now have them on order. One nit pick item, the safety scratches the side of the gun when deploying. Not a big deal, but it seems that could have been designed better.

Bought mine before the drought. The action is fairly smooth, with only three]3[ failure to feeds over roughly 1600 rounds. I have yet to purchase the available finger adjustable gas plug which alledgedly allows you to shoot low brass with a simple twist- so I only shoot OO, Slugs, High-Brass, or Duck/Goose loads. Slugs are dead-on -Center of Mass- using fixed iron sights at 80/90 yards. Double Ought holds a roughly 20/24 inch vertical by 30/37 inch horizontal pattern at 45-60 yards. I know this is nit picking but that damn dust cover -On My Saiga- is a MF''er to re-install particularly when compared to my Ak-47 underfolder. I''ve only cleaned the poor thing twice this year and it doesn''t seem to mind. Double Ought and slugs are really cheap at Big Five stores around here so I always keep about 100 rounds of each on hand. Incidentally, I bought the Saiga 12 at under $500.00, Hi-Point .45 at $158.00, and Ak-47 at a hair over $500.00 or all three for under $1150.00 on a bet. That I could buy a inexpensive durable, accurate, reliable multiple weapon group that would compete with most 12gauge shotguns, .45 auto''s and, AR- 16/M-4 platforms while the Kimbers, Colts and a variety of other .45''s do shoot slightly tighter groups I am still in the X ring with them, and the AK-47 vs Ar-16/M4 platform arguement goes on and on out to 250yds I shoot better with the AK and out to 350/400 yds we are tied and beyond that while I might miss a head shot occasionally I will blow center of mass away. as to the Saiga vs ANY other 12 gauge ... do to the interchangeability of and availability AK-47 parts there is no other 12 gauge in the world that can beat it. Match it perhaps but beat it...no chance and with its 20 round drum .... forget about it! Lots of stufffor mods on the net just use your browser for parts and forums and don''t forget YOUTUBE. BTW they make a sponge like buffer to reduce the felt recoil by 50... you''ll need it as it''s hard to stop shooting as long as you have ammo :[
